Bah! After studying hour after hour I’m finally done with my school exams. It took me a whole lot of time to study -I had six subjects though…- while the exams just took a couple of hours. But enough about school now, I’m glad i can celebrate my vacation now and enjoy the weather -what the.. where did the sun go?!- .

Ofcourse I didn’t make any designs the past two weeks, simply because i had to study as you can read above. But I did make some other graphics while i was taking a pause. Don’t expect they’re great I was just messing arround since I only had a little spare time to create them.

The first one I want to show you is the ‘Before & After” image. This image originally was an old grey photo, that I colored with the use of blending masks and brushing on to upper layers wich the use of the layer setting Hue.
The hard part for this effect is the use of colors, because it must look realistic and we don’t wanna end up with a human looking Smurf.

The 2nd image I want to show you is a sort of typography from my nickname “Joeys” . I saw alot of people making some texts/letters with the use of 3D. So i saw this tutorial at psdtuts and there i red that they made use of a program called Xara3D. So next thing I did was downloading the trial version of the program. At the first minutes I was messing arround, because I didn’t want to read any tutorials. I chose for the option to give my own flow to the image. The purple/first image was the first result after messing arround with the colors for some time -this was before the exams actually-.

So this weekend I was tweaking a profile page of mine and i needed a new background. I needed a more “male” version instead of the outstanding purple, so there I had another mission… I tweaked the image multiple times the last few days and finally came up with a good result. As I mentioned it’s a background-image for a profile page of mine, so as a “stand-alone” image it won’t look that representative.

Well this is it for now, next week you can expect a work in progress from a logo for my own. I hope you enjoyed reading this post and stay tuned for a new post!

Cheers!
